The President Vucic announced modernization of the railway line to the state border with North Macedonia

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic announced on 30 July great infrastructure works on reconstruction and modernization of railway line on the south of Serbia. He said that negotiations with the partners are underway regarding construction of the high speed railway line Belgrade- Nis in the length of 240km, which allows train speed up to 200 km/h and enable arrival in Nis in 1h and 30 minutes.

“If we sign the contract soon, the project should be done by the end of 2023” – said Mr.Vucic.

He explained that he will negotiate with European and Russian partners about construction of the railway line Nis-Presevo, because it is very important to have the complete railway line to the state border to North Macedonia.

Train speed through Grdelica would be up to 120 km/h, which makes the journey 3h shorter than the journey through Bulgaria, what would bring significant economic contribution to our country, explained Mr. Vucic.
