“Serbian Railways” Management Board made a decision to initiate the process of public provision for 10 new shunting diesel-electric locomotives, as planned in the business plan for this year.

These locomotives are intended for creation of railway compositions, and this provision would simultaneously accelerate and alleviate this problem at numerous marshalling yards in Serbia.

In the last two years, “Serbian Railways” have recorded the increase of freight transport, which makes just about 80 percent of total incomes. But the main cause of not being able to respond entirely to the requests of Serbian economy is exactly the lack of shunting locomotives and freight car.

“Serbian Railways” intend to open another tender for the provision of 1100 freight wagons, in order to resolve at least partly the constant lack of these vehicles.
