Milanko Sarancic – Manager of Serbia for 2006, for enterprise development and restructuring

Director General of “Serbian Railways”, Milanko Sarancic has been selected “MANAGER OF SERBIA FOR 2006, for development and restructuring of major enterprises”, and within the project “Way to the top”. This prestigious prize, statue “Captain Misa Anastasijevic” – work of our academic sculptor Ljubisa Mancic from Belgrade, was awarded to Sarancic at the ceremony held on March 22, at The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad. Award explication says, “The results are worth of the prize, but they also contribute to the reputation of this prestigious award”.

Expressing gratitude, Sarancic pointed out that the award belonged equally to every railway worker, to the Management

of Serbian Railways and the Managing Board, because they have all tried hard to achieve great business successes in the last three years.

– We had to change the law and apply it, reorganize the system, increase the number of locomotives and improve business in general. Final result was the increase of work volume for twenty times and seven thousand workers less through the social program. Great financial income has been attained and social peace as well, thanks to some railway unions – said Milanko Sarancic, at the award ceremony.

In the group of 360 entrepreneurs, small and middle enterprises and companies for 2006, “Serbian Railways” Director General was one of 29 recipients of this prestigious prize “Captain Misa Anastasijevic”, given to individuals and companies for their contribution to the development of entrepreneurial culture and work.
