On Tuesday, August 21, in the premises of Serbian Railways, the meeting of representatives of Serbian railways and Russian Railways will be held, where it is expected to be discussed about the activities on project realization which is financed by the loan of Government of the Russian Federation. Russian delegation will be headed by the vice-president of the Russian Railways Alexandar Vladimirovich Saltanov.
The aim of the meeting is, as was stated by the “Serbian Railways” director of the Infrastructure Directorate, Milan Maksimović, the acceleration of joint activities on realization of the project financed by the Russian loan.
Apart from the overview of the current activities, there will also be a discussion on the concretization of the agreed projects and prospects for future cooperation.
In order to coordinate all activities related to the commencement of the project implementation, the Russian company “Zarubežstrojtehnologija, which will be in charge of the activities, has registered the representative office in Serbia, and also, there is an ongoing adjustment of unit prices and the positions from the offer with the representatives of the Russian party, emphasized Maksimović.
A key precondition for signing the first contractor’s contract with the Russian side is compliance of price for the project of constructing of the second track and electrification of the railway line Beograd-Pančevo, Maksimović said, adding that it is necessary to complete many other things.
The Russian company has concluded in the mid-May, the contract with the Institute of Transportation CIP for the execution of project works and engineering research for the agreed projects.
The realization of the project carried out in stages. The first phase includes the construction and electrification of the second track of the line Beograd-Pančevo, reconstruction of the six sections of the Corridor 10 and purchasing DMUs of the the Russian company “Metrovagonmaš”.
The estimated date for the commencement of works for the second track Beograd-Pančevo is the end of 2012, and reconstruction works on Corridor 10 section Golubinci-Ruma is March 1, 2013.
