-Management board of “Serbian Railways”: the decisions on starting of the supply processing of 10 light two-part diesel multiple- unit set(DMU) and 30 electric multiple-unit set (EMU). The assets for new rolling stocks are provided, so the supply of multiple- unit sets in the value of 22 millions € will be financed from the Loan of the Kingdom of Spain and electric multiple-unit sets will be bought owing to the Loan of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. All necessary working groups for preparation, production and realization of international Tenders, were nominated by the decision of the Management board, whereby the conditions were created for „Serbian Railways” to start supply processing of new rolling stock, – stated the president of the Management board of “Serbian Railways” Zoran Anđelković.
“Serbian Railways” nominated, according to the previously ratified program of financial cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Spain, two projects for financing from the Loan of the Kingdom of Spain. First is supply of ten light two-part diesel multiple- unit set (DMU) in the value of 22 millions € for suburban and regional traffic. “Serbian Railways” expects to get from the Spanish Loan 15 millions € more for modernization of 30 passenger wagons.
Procurement of thirty multipart electro-motor trains, estimated value of approximately 99 million euros, will be financed from the credit of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Milovan Marković, Director General of “Serbian Railways”, based upon the decision of Managing board, on May 8, 2009, signed Loan Agreement, worth one hundred million euros with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; this job will be financed from that Loan. Following the decision of Managing board, the process of public acquisition of thirty electro-motor trains in the open procedure was initiated. International public invitation for Tenders submission will be issued on Serbian and English language in the “Official Gazettes” of Serbia and European Union, and selection of the most favorable Tender will be performed according to the conditions from Tender Documentation, for which European Bank for Reconstruction and Development gave its approval.
Each one of thirty new electro-motor units should be in traffic until 2013, at the latest.
