Overhaul and modernization of five electric locomotives at the factory “Koncar” in Zagreb should be finalized till the end of this month, and “Serbian Railways” expect to have these locomotives in operation on the tracks very soon, – said Milanko Sarancic, Director General of “Serbian Railways” in his statement for Media Center.

According to his words, introduction of these five electric locomotives into traffic will create conditions for significantly better and more efficient work of the Enterprise.

“Thus, modernization of all 38 electric locomotives owned by Serbian Railways will be finalized, as predefined in the contract. Beside “Koncar”, the electric locomotives have been processed at “MIN-Lokomotiva” from Nis, said Sarancic.

The entire project was 25 million Euros worth, and has been financed from the credit of European Bank for reconstruction and Development.
