From the total number of 600 wagons of different series at the rolling stock fleet of Serbian Railways, 258 went through the general repair and have been introduced in the service.

The rest of 342 cars should go through the same procedure in the next three months. The overhaul is being performed at several repair companies in Smederevo, Nis, Kraljevo, Subotica and Cuprija.

Overhaul of one single wagon amounts approximately 427 thousand Dinars and is being financed from the resources of Serbian Railways.

In order to satisfy the needs of Serbian economy, the railways have a daily lack of 2000 freight cars. This problem should be reduced after the provision of 1100 new wagons through the public procurement tender.
