Fifteen offers from entire Europe and our country were received for international tender for civil engineering related to reconstruction and modernization of Gilje-Cuprija-Paracin railway line, which confirmed the expectations that interest of domestic and foreign construction companies would be great. The evaluation of received offers is in progress, and after that the contractor will be chosen- said Director General of “Serbian Railways” Milovan Markovic.

The offers are received from the companies from Italy, Greece, Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Republika Srpska and Serbia.

The Comeete for selection of most favourable tender for civil engineering related to reconstruction and modernization of Gilje-Cuprija-Paracin railway line section organized tender public opening for contractors on the reconstruction of this section, which will be realized within the Railway reconstruction program II.

In late November 2011,„Serbian Railways“ published invitation for tenderes for construction of 10,5km of new double track electrified railway line, on the section Gilje-Cuprija-Paracin, on Corridor 10, on which the trains would be able to operate with 160km/h speed limit. The public invitation includes civil engineering works. The works will be financed from the EIB loan. According to evaluation, the new railway line can be constructed in approx. 14 months.
