Australian diplomats visited the Railway Museum in Belgrade

Dr Helena Studdert, Australian Ambassador to Belgrade and Tim Fischer, Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Australia, who is also leader of the Australian delegation at the Jubilee Conference of the Non-Aligned in Belgrade, visited on 5 September the Railway Museum and the Blue Train.
Mr. Tim Fischer, who is a great expert and admirer of railways and author of the book about railway issues, arrived at the Conference in Belgrade by train.
The Australian delegation was welcomed by Director General of “Serbian Railways”, Milovan Markovic, who presented the history of the railways, the most important aspects of transport in our country, future plans, as well as possibilities of utilization of museum and tourist potential of the railways.

The guests expressed their pleasure to the host for the great reception and used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of historical heritage for the future development of railways in the world and in our contry, and to approve the commitment of Serbian Railways to preserve the original layout of the Blue Train, as well as historical, museum and tourist attraction.
