Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, prof. Zorana Mihajlovic, phD, met today with the director of the Chinese company “China Railway International Company” (CRIC) Jia Yingge to talk about the implementation of the modernization project of the high-speed railway line from Belgrade to Budapest. The meeting was also attended by the economic adviser at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Serbia, Tang Xiaodong.

“This is the most important infrastructure project between our two countries.  I expect the work is going to be done more efficiently now and that next year, in the fall, we should be able to travel to Novi Sad in 30 minutes by modern trains,  using high speed railway line. The state and the Ministry will offer assistance and support as always in order to contribute to the speed and quality of the works.” – said Ms. Mihajlovic.

Deputy Prime Minister added that there are many construction sites in Serbia, but for the first time now a high speed railway line designed for the speed up to 200 km/h is being built.

“This is a project supported by the two presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping. This is a joint project of our two countries, our two nations and it is very important to follow agreed dynamics and plan.” – said Ms. Mihajlovic.

Jia Yingge informed the Deputy Prime Minister about the progress and dynamics of works on this section, expressing gratitude for the support and assistance of the Ministry.
