Miroslav Stojčić – New Director General of „Serbian Railways“ JSC

“Serbian Railways” Executive Board, on its first session held today in Belgrade, appointed Mr. Miroslav Stojčić for Director General.

The Assembly of “Serbian Railways” JSC, headed by president Zoran Anđelković, has previously appointed three executive directors Miroslav Stojčić, Rajko Ković i Nenad Kecman, according to the proposal of the Government.

This is the very first time that the Director General of Serbian Railways has been elected in a public competition, and all three directors have extensive experience in working at “Serbian Railways” JSC.

The new Director General of “Serbian Railways” JSC, Mr. Miroslav Stojčić holds a Degree in Traffic Engineering and has a lot of experience in the railway field. During his railway career, he was, among other things, Manager of Belgrade Main Railway Station, Director of Passenger Transport Department, Deputy Director for Traffic Affairs, Head of Infrastructure Section of Belgrade Junction. Before he was elected to the new position, he worked as an advisor to the Director of Infrastructure Directorate.

– The new management of “Serbian Railways” JSC aims to implement the new transport system along with technical and business modernization, so that in due course it could become a commercially oriented and successful company, which operates in the area of profit and maintains competitive ability in the long term. “In fact, we expect the support of all railway employees and trade union organizations“ – said the new Director General of “Serbian Railways”, Mr. Miroslav Stojčić, and thanked the Assembly and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia for their confidence.
